Personal reflection

As I was teaching my ISPD today in a classroom I experienced a moment where I used a term with an ELL student that was meet by a blank stare. The term I used was abbreviation. The class was an eighth grade history class. I had to quickly think of an new way of saying abbreviate. It made me realize how man words are used everyday that students are confused by, especially ELL students.
